The Rotation Back Into The Solar Sector Is In the Beginning Stages. GTAT Will Benefit.
Solar stocks have kept investors on a Roller-Coaster ride for decades. At times it's the hottest sector, and at times, it's dead money. What's important to know as an investor is when the rotation begins. I believe the current valuations of most Solar related stocks have marked the bottom and present a valuation that institutional and hedge fund money managers will recognize as a time to accumulate new positions in this sector. GTAT will benefit greatly as the Solar sector rotation begins to take traction. Buy now and enjoy the ride!
Basically being long on this stock at this time isn't for short term players. You are right that sooner or later the solar business will recover and let's not forget about the sapphire business. If you can afford dead money for the next 2 to 3 years and buy at these low prices it could be quite lucrative as long as you don't panic and sell if the stock should drop even lower in the interim. Just my opinion. I am long GTAT and certainly hope that I don't have to wait 2 to 3 years, but it kind of looks that way to me.
you might be surprised? look at SPWR behind the scenes the market sees and knows something.. and it likes it! the market is willing to ignore q1 and q2 and get ready for the 2nd half of this year and 2014.. if GTAT lines up the necessary deals over the next 6 months that can lead to a surprise 2014 then.. by the summer you would have missed the boat!!! GTAT could be back to $4 - $5.. and if Sapphire takes off in 2014.. and Solar takes off this can be a HOT STOCK!!!.. be cool and ignore those that need to be ignored.. anyone talking BK is out with a no good objective.
It's prudent to be conservative in your turn-a-round thesis, but I believe you will see just as much volatility to the upside as we've seen on the down side. My price points see GTAT at $4 per share before the end of the 2nd quarter, $6 by the end of the 3rd quarter, and $8 by the end of the 4th quarter.
