    Sapphire comments last fall (2012)

I now believe apple was testing the sapphire for home button use last fall since the 5s is the last phone in the jobs pipeline but took a year to come to market. They are testing sapphire for their entire screen in the iPhone 6. Conspiracy theory starts here !

    • The iPhone 6 release date will be in 2014. It will follow the iPhone 5S which will be released in September.

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek concurs, saying that there will be a June 2014 release for the iPhone 6. We reckon it will be later than that, around a year after the 5S. Citi's Glen Yeung also believes that we won't see an iPhone 6 until 2014.
They are test a few screens ranging from 4.8 to 6 inches. BIGGER is better

      • I think the date is aggressive because it will require a whole new shell and configuration to fit everything in and of course enough time to get sapphire on the screen. It depends on what Samsung does with their next S series. I'm guessin they will come out with a iPhone mini and then a new iPhone that is closer to 5 inches in size. It's a risk if they don't get it out before holiday season but I'm not sure they are ready. The 5s is the last phone in Jobs head.
