The whole thing started with 2 downgrades last Monday...
1. 2 downgrades on last Monday basic on Apple not going to use sapphire on iP6-- ( any prove....lol )
2. Then production issuer about the iP6 sapphire screen-- ( Do they really have spy inside the Apple factory? )
3. iP6 5.5 delay -- ( Apple didn't even announced they are going to make 5.5 yet....lol )
4. iP6 5.5 drop test fail -- ( Apply will wait until the last minute to do the test... what a joke )
5. Apple will not use GTAT as their iWatch sapphire face supplier ( then who will be able to deliver this volume )
6..........and so on.. just the many stupid reasons
I personally seen this many times..ex. upgrade Tesla at the highest $265 , then what happen... downgrade / negetive opinion when Apple buy Beat... then what happen.
If you really can't play the game or hold the pressure, sale all you position and move on. Just make sure you won't check the GTAT price during Sept or the end of the year. Cause I don't want you to come back here like a crying baby. I saw many people posting here ask about how low can this go, what is the bottom price....to be honest with you... who the fxxk will know!! Just get in the price you feel comfortable, any price you get in from now til the iP6 announcement will be a winner.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
yep. i was in qcor and it got same treatment. there were huge short position something like +30% they took it down from $75 to around $47. recently it traded around $95.
even gilead ( gild) got hammered from $84 down t0 $62. now around $90.
just sit tight.
one thing i learnt while in qcor was people complaining about stop loss being taken out. it used to have
$3 to $5 dip in a day.
my advise don't use stop loss

Okay. I feel comfortable buying at $5.00. Thanks for your wisdom. It's very helpful.
Slander by short sellers, and my guess is that UBS was on the short side. I don't recall the analyst stating UBS's position in GTAT and probably doesn't their GTAT recommendation on GTAT the prior months to their clients. There was a significant number of shares shorting GTAT starting at the end of May.
Upgrades and downgrades are a shameless game to benefit for their own gains. Wall Street dictates what the SEC can and cannot do.
pretty accurate synopsis of what is going on here. Chartists and technicians are always looking for entry into an equity/security that is deeply entrenched in a long term uptrend. GTAT's recent 50% retracement from the breakout on FEB 3rd from the 10.28 level to the all time highs of 20.54 that recently printed qualifies. I realize that many here do not follow the intraday swings in their investment here, but some of us do this for a living and are always looking for derivative opportunities in those equities we own or want to own. While it is not uncommon for more speculative stocks to retrace large 100% moves like GT's, it can be unsettling and frustrate those with shorter term mindsets. While the 25% drop from the highs here has caused quite a bit of consternation, it was not altogether surprising. Just ask yourself who was buying all of those shares that have recently been freed up by normal beta volatility here... longer term --- MUCH longer term GTAT will continue to outperform the averages provided GTAT mgmt. executes their roadmap to profitability..

Yeah, RB ... common sense that, against an average volume of 8mil, we have six days of 31, 21, 17, 11, 9, and 17mil. That comes to 58 million shares or, roughly a billion dollars of money-changing hands essentially on downgrades/warnings based upon guesstimates of activity between the largest cap, most profitable public company on the globe and lil ole GTAT. I am quite sure that small retail doesn't have that kind of fire power. All the best.
From my point of view, chart & tech doesn't work on the situation of GTAT now days. It is about how much trust you have on GTAT & Apple. How much homework you did, and what is your target price of GTAT. As I always believe, you can make money by buy stock or sell short, buying call or even selling call. Just as of the closing price of GTAT today, I don't see there are much profit left by sell short.
