with pricing power unseen in Natural Foods Reed is rapidly buying market share! With distribuition nationwide for Kombucha the hottest selling beverage in category it would be wise for Reed to be bought out now on favorable terms before more pricing power damage is done. 2 for $2.79 13.5 ounce versus $3.00 to $3.69 for 16 ounce is a huge marketing ploy. With Kombucha flying off shelves Reed is building massive revenue. My guess is profit margins are similar to bottled soda only for Reed. With competition much larger in selection and as much as 100% plus higher in retail cost Reed is using KISS theory. Keep it simple stupid!
update on pricing "Earth Fare" which is not a discount organic grocery store continues the sale on "Reed's Culture Club" till end of January. As for sales: "Reed," was sold out of cranberry, lemon had a few bottles, and grapefruit was we'll stocked. Obviously that is order of sales in this location. "Reed," is still being understocked by looks of shelves. Promotional pricing is working. All the other brands we're we'll displayed and full inventory. "Earth Fare," does a good lunch time crowd and I expect a lot of sales are from not only grocery shoppers but the workers in the area. The difference of $3.00 to $3.69 on the competition to $1.40 is driving sales. As for the taste it is reported on "You Tube," that the taste is "Yummy," In fact I left two bottles in fridge and was awoken this morning by a surprised wife trying to get me up to drink Kombucha as she seemed ecstatic over the cranberry. it was my first buy-in and I was cautious as she is normally not the profile of a "Reed," consumer. Fact is it looks like "Red Bull," maybe out! For the better!
