FYI for investors on the West coast: Wegmans on the East coast
Wegmans is a growing Reed's customer and carries a really large supply of the Ginger brews and Virgil's sodas and also candy. The "in store" dining section contains many small refrigerators stocked with Reed's individual sodas. Their brand new upscale grocery stores in MD are as large as 150,000SF and 11 more in various east coast states should open 2013-2015. Reed's Kombucha apparently is not sold there at this point, only GT.
There is a Wegmans close to me in eastern PA. They have a large assortment of Reeds/Virgils products, and had 2 prominent endcap displays during the holiday season. Their cooler for Kombucha is quite small but the GT/Synergy products seem to fly. I spoke to the manager of the department and he said the Kombucha sales are unbelievable. I've called the corporate number to request the Reeds Kombucha. All in good time, I assume.
I'm glad 'Wegmans' has been brought up. I would think management is acutely aware of the opportunities which a chain like Wegmans represents. In many respects this outfit embodies the future of retail grocers. Continue to inquire about 'K' and the other REEDS/Virgils products and maybe things will happen sooner!!
