Cytec may be the only one buying Cytec right now; good thing they started the new buyback program in December...
Not even Mr. B thought this one would go this low.
Hey, anyone care to dispel the BA CYT trend connection?
It sure looks like the institutional investors believe in that one. Interestingly, HXL does not exhibit the same trend, though it could be argued that those two should trend more closely that BA/CYT.
Any predictions about what the annual report will do for the price? (I predict a bump after release, it can't be as gloomy as the trend seems to anticipate, unless there is a surprise...)

If I/they did this right, the link will show multiple price increase announcement by CYT in the last few months - ya' gotta believe that earnings are being preserved!
through the roof. I wonder what kind of job the manufacturing units are doing at controlling costs? I fear not so well. Price increases must be affecting volume.
CYT should about have the buy back complete given some of the volumes we have been seeing - of course you have to back out excapnal's accumulations ;).
As for the BA/CYT trend connect; pretty tough to argue against, and I agree, one would certainly expect a closer correlation w/HXL - but let's not lose sight of the S&P connection as well - the whole darn market is in the toilet and the fact that CYT has gone lower than the market bothers me not since it also went higher than the market before the "correction" and will again when the market gets done shedding its skin.
And, yes, that will start with the earnings report, assuming no surprizes, but how far it will go depends on the whole macro picture, just as the current low does.
Wouldn't expect the buyback to happen that quickly. The recently completed buyback took several years. More likely it is a gimmick to try to shore up the falling stock price while the board and other insiders dump their exercised options and year end bonuses. Question is what do they know is in the upcoming report.
Hmmmm.
Your normally optimistic view and my normally pessimistic view seem to be the same.
The logical conclusion: We must both be wrong.
(Actually, I think we are both correct, but there is no reason to let anyone else in on that...)
Company is a joke! It's amazing how the Board of Directors allow this to continue. Share holder value right into the pockets of the LT. As for communication well there never was and never is any. At least to the ones that are looking for share holder value returns.
