    T. D' Ambra's $5.37 mil. salary

    $5.37 Mil, before options (I can only imagine how disgusting the options are). The 3 year chart would warrant that he pays the company back.

      I believe the company is slightly under-valued in spite of Tom's sweetheart package. Last year was the bottom imho, many restructuring charges towards cost saving initiatives. Yr/Yr qtr improvements should be easy for 2005. My target is $14.50 by Christmas.
      ps: If Tom wasn't so overpaid my target would be 50% higher.

    • Maxborder, it's interesting you suggest that Tom's salary is unethical (I think it is!), but still rate this stock a Buy. How can you recommend a company where such a significant amount of the thin profits are being skimmed off by the CEO? Also, he and his wife just disposed of $2.8 million in stock back in December (check Yahoo insider section for AMRI). This at the same time they're closing facilities, laying off staff, and replacing these jobs in India and Singapore. The rich get richer, the poor stay poor. This type of practice, though legal, is the shame of America. Shareholders should get wise and refuse to sanction activities like these. This CEO's salary is obscene relative to the meager profits the business is generating.

      If his salary/bonus were cut in 1/2 which imho would be a good start towards being ethical, AMRI's EPS and share price would certainly be alot higher!

    • I can't beleive Alcon's chairman only gets $3.81 mil. Based on market cap he should be getting $390 + mil if he was getting the same percentage as Dr. Tom.

    • I believe Dr. Vogt could a great choice, however, he may be tired of moving around???? Dr. D'Ambra has his "magic" few scientists that are getting all the perks too. He only shares the wealth with his handful of so called "walk on water" types. Be careful, unless you happen to be lucky enough to be one of the "chosen" few that get on the great $$$ wagon. You said you "have had the priveledge of meeting him"? You call that a priveledge? Not sure there are too many other stock holders that would agree. You may want to re-think that.....Lately, I sure don't feel priveledged to be holding "his" so called million dollar stock.........Just when I think it has hit rock bottom......surprise!!!

      He certainly wouldn't be better off financially considering the share price performance.

      You must be T. D'A's son. That's a pretty funny statement considering dads an employee of a publicly traded company. Your statement above really addresses the biggest problem regarding corporate greed. Company management's and BOD's can basically rubber stamp anything they want including rediculous bonus, salary, and option packages. It's really easy in this case because management of AMRI own more than 50% of the voting shares, and the D'Ambra's own close to 1/3 of the total outstanding shares so I suppose your
      quote above isn't too far from the truth ie: He could have rubber stamped any compensation package he wanted above and beyond what he asked for which in my opinion is already way too generous considering how the stock has performed over the last several years.
      ps: I didn't suggest his compensation is in any way fraud, only that it's rediculous considering the company performance in recent years. I was pointing out that in the last few years investors are looking more closely at issues that effect company performance because of the many high profile fraud scandals that have been unearthed.
      Employee compensation definately effects share price performance and in the case it's obvious!

    • So it appears you are a communist! Dr. D�Ambra personally invented a proprietary process and obtained a patent. To give the company 90% of the royalties is a fine example of compassionate conservatism that our president enshrines. Dr. D�Ambra has formulated a visionary strategy concentrating on an integrated, focused effort aimed at garnering a portion of the pharmaceutical business and to suggest that any fraud is occurring is laughable. This was a billion dollar company and is undergoing the same problems as it�s competitors. With AMRI�s cash reserves it is probably in better shape.
