So, you're making predictions based on software models. I did that once and missed a tremendous buying opportunity for a local printing company. The company's story looked bleak as the Internet was gaining popularity. They changed their strategy and found a new market, and their depressed stock price shot up and stayed up.
AMRI has had no good news lately, so I can understand the shorts' mentality. I agree that the threat of losing Allegra is very scary for this company.
But, management aren't dummies. There are many PhDs running this show. While BioTech and NanoTech may not exist at AMRI, it exists at SUNY-Albany and RPI. I can't imagine that there is no collaboration between AMRI and the universities.
Perhaps I'm being too optimistic. To keep the shorts happy, I'll reduce my sentiment to Hold until good news comes from Albany Molecular Research.
There are many unknowns, so it's foolish to be overly optimistic or overly pestimistic.
