    Even though it is Christmas, I see that there are those that have forgotten what this period is all about! Fortunately, Dr. D�Ambra, the founder of this global drug discovery company, did not.

    ALBANY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 22, 2005--Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMRI - News) announced today that Thomas and Constance D'Ambra have made a personal gift of 85,000 shares of AMRI stock to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The donation is a second installment to honor a $3 million commitment made by the D'Ambras to endow a faculty chair in synthetic organic chemistry.

    The gift, which was noted in a company filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on December 22, 2005, recognizes support and resources the company received in its early years from Rensselaer and its chemistry department. The D'Ambras made a similar donation to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in December 2004.

    Thomas D'Ambra is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Albany Molecular Research Inc. and serves as a member of the Presidential Advisors group at Rensselaer.

    Albany Molecular Research, Inc. is a global drug discovery company that provides chemistry services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and conducts its own proprietary R&D programs.

    • Obviously this is immoral although unfortunately not illegal! These are shares that Mr. Tom obtained for essentially nothing and he is taking a massive tax break. The poor University will probably end up with shares that will be worthless in a few years. If he was even close to being generous he would have donated CASH!
