Isn't it strange or is it just me? Ultra long Real Estate (URE)is now only 66% below its 200d MA and Ultra Short Real Estate (SRS) is now 49% below 200d MA. You lost money if you bought either Ultra Long or Ultra Short and held for any length of time. I guess the House wins,or the gambler, not the investor.
No argument with your citing the 200% gain from Sep to Nov. But that was in fact a bit of a market anomaly..if you're playing these things on, say, a weekly basis, decay will eat away at your positive % over time (and yes..'over time' is probably a relative term)
