    WDC down 6% today.

Just thought I'd point that out.

    • Apple's announcement of a 128GB iPad may have hurt disk-related stocks, including HTCH and WDC.

      Sentiment: Hold

    • Thanks LTF. Any particular reason for WDC sell down today? Just wondering if you took some profits during the recent run up? Comments on today's big sell off? Hope there is no leak.

Looking forward to today's NR and CC.

    • I don't know if you intend to participate in the CC tonight, but I did want to thank you for the insight your questions provided regarding the outlook for HTCH and enterprise. I just read the transcript from the STX CC and noted statements regarding an increase in the number of heads per drive. The TAM can stay at 135, but the number of heads (and suspension assemblies) can continue to grow. Given HTCH's statements regarding DSA being 50% of sales by the end of FY2013, I remain hopefull this area will provide the opportunity to boost sales to over 125M units per quarter.

      • Kudos for reading the Seagate transcript. Lots of good news there. HTCH is simply down in sympathy with STX and WDC. STX and WDC are down simply because the hedgies could do it. They need churn. Read the Seagate CEO interview from a number of months ago. He explained it perfectly. Many Wall Street hedgies and churners hate STX because CEO is doing th right thing....giving tons of cash to shareholders and decreasing total outstanding shares by almost 50%!
