talk of going into Syria now

This might come as a shock to a simplistic thinker like yourself, but a lot of conservatives and libertarians are questioning counter-productive, unwinnable American military strategy in the Middle East. Have you ever heard of the Cato Institute? Michael Sheuer? (you should read his book, but you sound like the type of person who only reads things that validate your world view) Republican Rep. Ron Paul? Pat Buchanan? Arnaud DeBorchgrave? Our founding fathers (who were not "Far Left" by any means) are spinning in their graves over our interventionism. Most "liberals" like Kerry and the New York Times have actually called for a bigger commitment in the Middle East. It's easier for you to knock a bogeyman like the "Far Left", a long discredited political minority that has little power except to help Rush Limbaugh sell his radio commercials. It's far more difficult for Bush supporters to deal with legitimate conservative criticism that actually makes you think.
