Time to face reality about Gasfrac

I thought Gasfrac would move much quicker just on speculation, potential growth but I missed the degree of safety issues and the 1st quarter earnings.
2nd quarter should be much better, still not hitting full potential (some down time). Here is the major reason for recent drop in Gasfrac price.
I am still long buying on every dip whenever I have cash. Still say $20+ this year.

GASFRAC Energy Services, Inc.'s Quarterly Revenues, missed many days for fire investigation.

GASFRAC Energy Services, Inc. had 1st quarter 2011 revenues of C$30.5M. This missed the C$40.7M consensus estimate of the 3 analysts following the company. This was -25.9% below the prior year's 1st quarter results.

    • Yahoo charts say 1400 shares of the stock traded at $5.80 on June 23, a mini flash crash for Gasfrac. Anyone know why?

Likely moving down with large volume because Venture classified mutual funds must sell because GFS moved off the Venture Exchange. Time will be needed before other mutual funds get their management approval to purchase for other funds.

    • jknowsstock. I see you post often here. Do you follow GFS?

GFS warned long ago about a weak Q2 due to spring break up. This warning was talked about in their Q1 report.

      • samiam, very good point. Companies with exposure to the "Great White North" have to factor this into expectations. Last year - same way. Next year - same way.

If anything, this is promising in that GASFRAC is working to increase market share to plays that do not have to deal with breakup.

Low volume drops with a solid company are generally good times to load up. If it continues down, I might do so in the coming days myself.

    • The "move" and reality are often different things. Otherwise, we would keep our money in the mattress.

The key is a company that's keeping so busy that the current backlog isn't yet in the stock price. My theory is that a company that can double every year has value.

Agree, I was just stating an analyst report that explained why the price decline in Gasfrac and why some are not jumping aboard until revenue and safety issues are to their liking. Still feel Gasfrac should double + from these prices this year.

    • Even though the company's first quarter results were well below estimates and expectations because of the accident down time, the revenues ($30.5 mil.) were actually DOUBLE first quarter revenues from last year not 26% below as you state.

      ...just keeping the record straight.

    • This is old news but it is a reminder to all stakeholders in Gasfrac that safety must come first if this company is to prossper.
All communications from Gasfrac reflects this as the first priority of the company
