DT parent of T-Mobile has advisors taking position in soon-to-be announced TD-LTE wholesale provider CLWR. Share appreciation more than pays for wholesale deal. As CLWR value increase, S value increase. T-Mo $4B from T is bet spent on S/CLWR than trying to build.
T-Mobile / Sprint merger to follow. Goldman is putting it together.
Sprint spectrum network vision hosting and aggregation supports CDMA, HSDPA and LTE.
DT/Sprint much like Vodafone/VZ. T is in trouble.
Short T & VZ, Long CLWR, S
That's right. In any case, S better get a move on it's merger with CLWR (before it becomes too big i.e. LTE wholesaler and also too costly). In the future such a merger could be stalled in the light of FCC concerns http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_C/threadview?m=tm&bn=88597&tid=68829&mid=68829&tof=20&frt=2
or even antitrust issues by the DOJ. On the other hand T-mo may gobble up CLWR ASAP before S has time to even blink.
Tmob doesn't need S, Tmob needs Clwr. Tmob needs the new chip because of the gift they received from T:
"One possibility floated by analysts is that T-Mobile could try and buy or wholesale spectrum from Clearwire (NASDAQ:CLWR), which has vast spectrum holdings but is bound in a tight relationship with Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S)."

T-Mobile launches promotion to get families to buy more data
Where is T-Mobile getting unlimited data?
Clearwire of course? news soon?
In reference to the Gobi chips:
"The chipsets contain the industry's only modems to integrate 7 different radio access modes on a single baseband chip: cdma2000 (1X, DO), GSM/EDGE, UMTS (WCDMA???, TD-SCDMA???) and LTE (both LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD)."
In reference to Tmob/T roaming agreement:
"Additionally, it was known that a failed merger would result in a roaming agreement between AT&T and T-Mobile, and now we know the details: T-Mobile gets a seven-year UMTS??? roaming deal on AT&T..."
Possibly why the Metro PCS deal was called off? But once again all this action and volume and someone or someone's know something. As usual the retail Investor will be the last to know. Way to much Insider trading going on.
