    SC-FDMA in TD-LTE (CLWR) Uplink - 2x Range Extension

    Goggle it!

    Heretofore CLWR uses OFDMA (WiMax)
LTE switches to SC-FDMA which equal 2x range/penetration improvement.

Spotty coverage and lack of indoor penetration goes away for most.

CLWR sites were pre-chosen to be close enough to provide blanket coverage ONCE TD-LTE is implemented.

Turn-on the TD-LTE network CLWR and Sprint. Quit f'ng the shareholders with this deceit!

With 16QAM over distributed sub-carriers, OFDMA was found to have good BER performance only in the presence of robust channel coding. It is outperformed by both Precoded OFDMA and SC-FDMA when less powerful coding is employed. Precoded OFDMA has similar performance to SC-FDMA on frequency selective channels, since their spreading properties recover frequency diversity. On the other hand, it inherits the high PAPR disadvantages of OFDMA. Thanks to its singlecarrier signal structure, SC-FDMA has the advantage of lower PAPR and thus lower back-off requirements than OFDMA and Precoded OFDMA.

    • You don't get it: indano this does not matter. Everyone deploying LTE benefits similarly.. no advantage for Clearwire. And it does not matter anymore/anyway/anyhow as it has long been too late for small things like this to make one iota of difference.

"Gee maw, if we put the new Techroline additive gasoline in our car the advertisement says we will get extra zip, jumping gehosafat!" "Clyde, you idiot, out car is broke down and our credit card is maxed out, we can't afford no Techroline whatchamacalit."
