    • I am not sure of the exact breakdown, and that's my bad, but much of the BOD is Sprint-controlled. Prusch is a Sprint-appointee. He and others are only looking out for S interests. Is that performing fiduciary duty? I don't think so, even with the self-serving language in the governance. Crest and Mt. Kellett don't think so either.

      • 7 of the 13 BoD members are "independent" selected by Sprint plus Prusch with the two women selected by previous Clearwire management and Slad Gorton brought on by Stanton (also a member brought in by Craig McCaw and his investment company Eagle River), for the likely two fold purpose of advising on DOJ/FCC concerns and BoD member management.

By the way...Zzzzzz? What could be better than a 100 year old quote that applies to what is going on with Clearwire? At times it feels like this has been carrying on for 100 years.

      • As such, this has been developing for a long time... Clearwire was headed down the path of greater debt and financial dependence on Sprint because internal direct retail failed to develop to the degree planned. They went through months of negotiations tit-for-tat with the result of reorganization to make a leaner, wholesale emphasis company with the new Sprint controlled management team in place. The strategic error was what? Accepting the needed financing or having spent so much in the failed attempts at direct retail in the spendy ways the company executed? The recent discussions are a) fellow idiots gaining awareness for a situation they should have been pretty clear on a year ago. b) now a matter of waiting for the chips to fall one way or the other... with the outcome being relatively minor changes in the price and some slim hope that the current offers will be set aside and a new deal struck. The latter is more wishful thinking and an excuse for current investors to hold onto the stock... miracles do occasionally happen even in the suckers game of NASDAQ stocks.

The only other purpose for this board is as a jot place for surrounding news and ideas. That value is dissipating and will end within six months at the outside as CLWR gets taken out for, at most $4.50.. probably around $3.50.

Crest, Mt Kellett etc. may hold out for a sweetened pot or latter out of court settlement. However, I don't see their chances of big gains being likely.
