and have a better foot print going forward AND more importantly the ability to transfer money in seconds without waiting for 4-5 days to clear. I know there is a lot of talk about paypal being an up and coming competitor. Pay Pal has a deal with Moneygram but Moneygram has nowhere near the footprint or infrasturcture and is not as financially able as WU.
My gut is telling me buy out is near.
locations for what? how would more locations help mastercard? don't you think if WU bought mastercard, then mastercard would lose their other prepaid labels, like netspend? esentially it would be better served as closed loop with all those locations.
if you are talking about credit cards taking wu over, then you should look at dfs or axp.
it is not a credit card company that goes well with WU. it is a financial holding co that would better with WU. think a better fit would be a company like AMZN or EBAY, perhaps even Walmart. accept payments for their customers in cash, bring more dollars to their core ops. even if someone sends money to their love ones in africa to buy at the local store, and there's no amzn, ebay, or wmt, at least they get revenue from their wiring of the transaction.
