    MoneyGram sale faceplant

    Thoughts?

I read another article touting Xoom as the wave of the future because of its roughly $100 M in annual digital revenue... ...same article dissed Western Union because "only 4%" of its revenues were digital... ...of course, that's about $200-240 M, making WU *digital* (by itself) 2 to 3 times the size of (all of) Xoom. It's amazing how analysts lie with numbers. :-)

I saw the MGI sale not as indicative of industry trends but as something of a baldfaced attempt by Goldman and the PE shop to see if they could get another PE shop to overpay and liquidate their bad investment (which I think is back below breakeven for them, given where MGI is now trading).
