depreciation write-off increases thus lowering earnings. Now
would be a bad time for them to do that.

thing that sort of bothers me is the apparent high
short interest. I say apparent because I don't know the
actual figures. However, a couple of brokerages (like
Datek) can't (or are unwilling) to borrow shares to sell
of the volume today. Do I sniff bad news leaking
out of FCH?

Thanks for the details. I assume you got it from
some official source. I originally read "95% of
taxable income" only in their annual report (I think it
was, or an SEC filed doc.)
Question, since you
seem to have a good handle on this, wouldn't their
reported net income (not their FFO) be the basis of the
irrationally.....not that it was rational to
begin with....But, when positive earning surprises are
met with waves of selling...this kind of mentality
will reak havoc on REITs particularly FCH (whose
balance sheet is in pretty good shape).
long on this stock for over a year and will continue
to buy when the price hits 18. If FCH drops below
17, it will be bacause:
1) Negative earnings
announcement (not likely)
2) Market tanks (very
probable given today's events)
Buying in increments
will level out the general insanity which follows
