CEO of ETP said on Mad Money some time back that he couldn't remember two bad propane years back to back. ETP also being hit by propane this year. I am very hopeful on the storage aspect. There is a lot of natural gas coming out of the ground and storage is key. Dividend at today's share price is almost 8%. I'm banking my dividends for the near future--and watching to see how propane goes here and at ETP.
For those interested in propane can google propane consumption/demand, whatever and get a pretty good read of things. In addition to warmer weather, natural gas and electricity have been economical swithces away from propane in the last decade and overall consumption of propane has declined perhaps around 10%. But one should also google propane auto-gas. The diversity of use and its growth appear promising. I'm long NRGY, APU and FGP.
Storage is a huge money maker these days and getting bigger. The acquisition is going to be important. I bought NRGY because of their storage component after doing a lot of research on storage. I'm not giving up on propane either. We will see. Meanwhile, that 8% dividend feels real good.
