Now Kenexa found a buyer!!! Maybe because they report earnings
Saba is running out of buyers. I know Kenexa doesn't have a real learning management system, but every time someone gets bought in the HCM space, that is one less buyer interested in Saba for at least a few quarters.
If Saba could get out of their own incompetent way and release some financials, maybe show a little momentum, someone might just look into buying them. Perhaps someone is already in agreement to buy Saba and thus Babak does not feel the urgency to act like a public company answerable to public shareholders. Perhaps, but maybe not so likely.
Kenexa gets bought in the high 3's x revs. Saba sits here still under 2x. Anyone with a half a brain and a pulse could do better with this company than Yazdani.
I'm still a fan of the theory of that Saba's botched revenue recognition, which occurred almost 3 years ago, was found as part of a due diligence through a potential buyout deal.
IBM sunset their own LMS a few years ago and had an exclusive partnership with Saba to migrate their customers. IBM is a consistent and only "platinum" sponsor of Saba conferences. With such a tight relationship it boggles my mind how Kenexa ended up being the buyout.
Not sure who else with large reserves can and would want to buy Saba. They may be on their own.
