Tobacco is more than a health issue. It's also a matter of individual rights and freedom of choice.
Americans are proud of the fact that they can live and choose the life style they so desired as long as it's legal. Keep in mind, smoking is legal in the US as in every country the world over. Also, don't over look the fact that smoking is considered to be enjoyable by many, the inalienable right of "pursue of happiness" is in your US constitution.
Based on previous poster's defense of why tobacco should continue to be a legalized substance wouldn't it be just as easy to argue for the legalization of whatever pleasure pursuit is not currently legal.
