Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REGI) Message Board

    Hold this stock for long-term

This stock could be trading above $20 next year.
So selling it now to gain $0.5 - $1.0 profit does not worth it.

I am holding and buying more.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

depends on how many shares you own. I have 40,000. Yes I will be selling some of them today to take profits and buy it back for only 15.00 a trade. I only need a .05 drop to buy it below what I sold it at. But I agree with you... I'm keeping this stock for a good while longer. If we go to war with Iran in the future-which is possible but I don't like the idea at all-this will go up well over 20.

    • Back out the government incentives of $149 million, REGI has a substantial loss for the quarter. Not sure I understand the surge in pps.

    • Yo " Y ",

REGI IS the cream of the crop so to speak. But you need to consider that there is a risk to all feedstock bios. There is no need for additives in cellulosic produced gasoline or diesel. None. Zero.

"If" the process works (economically) and a plant IS on line now, then these companies will produce a product that there is a decreasing demand for. And the decreasing demand COULD cause decreased government support. The new technology can be added right on to existing oil refineries.

      Just be cautious.

      • the new technology can be added on to oil refineries? You make it sound so easy. I worked in that industry for years and own my own (very small) refinery. There is usually a big problem with that statement....real estate. room. the infrastructure of a new feedstock not flowing underground in a pipeline....well, you get the picture...I hope. the dept. of agriculture has finananced a half a dozen of these facilities to see just how feasible it is to make fuel from all that waste biomass out there.

One could argue that a couple of GTL facilities could wipe out the diesel from soy or grease facilities but they cost billions and now we see natural gas prices rising. for that matter, one could argue the move to natural gas fuel for trucks, replacing diesel would hurt. One can argue lots of things.
