    • just change your handle to "nonsense"

    • jcreamer, just what stock do you own at this time? Do you own any?

    • trollboy,

How long does it take to prepare a tender offer? a day, a week, a month, three months?

How long does it take to convince a $150 Billion publicly traded corporate management team to spend $6 billion for an acquisition? a day, a week, a month, three months?

No one writes how long they were working on a tender offer circular, no one...

    • <<Once ILMN sales slowed and ILMN share price slid, Roche did change their acquisition plan by lowering their initial offer price to $40/share from somewhere probably in the $60's or $70's.>>

I read the tender from cover to cover and read no such thing. This is no more than your own fantasy.

    • trollboy,

Once ILMN sales slowed and ILMN share price slid, Roche did change their acquisition plan by lowering their initial offer price to $40/share from somewhere probably in the $60's or $70's.

ILMN originally was eating 454 Life Sciences lunch with their HiSeq machines. Then came Ion Torrent and that changed the calculus of Roche's ILMN acquisition plans.

Just because you claim to be an M&A expert doesn't prove anything except that you are an obnoxious POS.

    • <<Roche started planning the ILMN offer probably when ILMN shares touched $75/share and everything was going peachy keen.>>

If that is true, then Roche could have changed its plan. The very fact that Roche proceeded with its offer tells you all you need to know.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Roche has no interest in LIFE.

    • Trollboy,

This was the rest of the quote:

Roche started planning the ILMN offer probably when ILMN shares touched $75/share and everything was going peachy keen.

You are a real creep, trollboy.

    • <<Roche didn't have a clue that the Ion Torrent would be such a smashing success and that Wall Street traders has better knowledge of the DNA sequencing business than they did.>>

      You really are a fool.

    • trollboy,

your objective is to drag out this process as long as possible and ignore all the facts that would bear on accelerating the process. your interests are Goldman Sachs interests. Goldman Sachs is short at least 10 million shares of ILMN stock.

Roche started planning the ILMN offer probably when ILMN shares touched $75/share and everything was going peachy keen. Roche didn't have a clue that the Ion Torrent would be such a smashing success and that Wall Street traders has better knowledge of the DNA sequencing business than they did.

Roche is a big enough company to recognize they made a mistake. Are you that big?

    • I'm quite certain that Roche fully evaluated LIFE in conjunction with ILMN and decided that ILMN was the preferred horse. I have no idea whether that will turn out to be a good decision...but nor do I care.

Perhaps another buyer will someday acquire LIFE. In the meantime, however, let's focus on the task at hand...getting the highest possible price for ILMN.
