How simple a short can this be ?
There is no way VMW is worth a P/E of over 200 because no other stock is !!
Currently the P/E is 225.9 !!
What are you expecting here, growth of 10000% per annum ??
Its WAY OVERVALUED, WAKE UP !!
Shocking figures !!!!
Anyone pumping their cash into this will lose a big chunk of it by the time the first set of results are out !!
WTF will people realise the float at $29 WAS THE RIGHT PRICE !!
EBITDA (ttm): 272.00M
Net Income Avl to Common (ttm): 106.46M
Diluted EPS (ttm): 0.314
Total Cash (mrq): 258.47M
Total Cash Per Share (mrq): 0.777
Market Cap (intraday)6: 22.87B
Enterprise Value (29-Aug-07)3: 23.75B
Trailing P/E (ttm, intraday): 219.44
Forward P/E (fye 31-Dec-08) 1: 74.90
Price/Sales (ttm): 27.85
that the number for 2006...for 2007 the EPS target is around .73
With the growth potential for this company it can have p/e 100. If you are so worried about PE look at rvbd..their pe is 1469..is it sane? what's their growth potential versus Vmware? will never come close.
Don't let numbers fool you. If you want to wait then wait till the first public earning report due in oct'07
RAMPED BY THE BROKER !!!!
ALREADY REACHED THREE BROKERS 1 YEAR TARGETS IN 3 WEEKS !!!!
CLEARLY A SELL AND A SHORT !!!!

ALL TAKEN FROM
STILL OVERVALUED AND GONNA DROP ANOTHER 3% TOMORROW !!!!
Volatility returned to Wall Street Tuesday, sending stocks plunging as investors grew more uneasy about the economy and whether the Federal Reserve will take the steps needed to prevent credit market problems from spreading further. The Dow Jones industrials fell more than 280 points.
DOW DOWN TO 12000
VMW DOWN TO $30
Anyone buying at this price needs an analyst, a personal analyst, you know .... a psychiatrist !!!!
For the thick crew http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychiatrist
HYPE AND MORE HYPE (from the brokers that is!)
VMware's revenue run-rate is about $1.2 billion, giving the company a price-to-sales multiple of 16. Even for a company with strong barriers to entry and enticing growth prospects, that's not cheap, particularly given the considerable hype surrounding its IPO debut. In other words, Foolish investors are probably best off waiting for things to calm down before thinking about grabbing some shares.
WHERE IS THE GROWTH GOING TO COME FROM ???? VMW HAVE ALREADY SOLD TO 99% OF THE US MARKET !!!!
VMware's 20,000 total customers now include all of the Fortune 100, and 840 of the Fortune 1,000
Goin down .... and so are you :))))
I don't care whether its the market or the shorters that bring this pile of overvalued junk stock down to $30
BECAUSE THAT IS ALL IT IS WORTH !!!!
P/E of over 200 .... HILARIOUS !!!!
VERY STRONG SELL !!!!
Have a read, the broker target for THE YEAR has already been reached, its a raging short now on a P/E of over 200, its madness !!
The price where it should be trading?
It all depends where you think the companies future is going. I think it should do very well. However the P/E is quite excessive.
Many managers priced the stock at 55. Considering that these managers are the main players in the stock market, you will eventually have a hard time finding buyers at its current price.
Doing the math however I found that 47.10 seemed a good price considering the growth and comparing it with the rest of the industry. However it is difficult to compare. There doesn't seem to be any competition at the moment.
I will say I never jumped on a hot IPO before now. I picked up EMC about 5 months ago. I then sold EMC and bought VMWare at around 52. I sold VMware Friday at 72 and I am picking up PG, INTC, WB, and GME. I would grab EMC again but I dont like the way it fits with the rest of my stocks.
Goodluck.. though I am sure someone is going to bless me out for my thoughts.
