According to the Motley Fool article, The CEO is planning on selling up to 840,000 shares of EMC stock. SOUNDS like a lot? It represents less than 10% of the EMC shares he controls. His stock was stuck between 9- 14 for the last two years so now he gets a chance to sell near a two year high. What we don't know is how many VMW shares he controls as the result of the IPO. I think his sale is a non-issue. What does show up as a negative for EMC is this: when you look at option premiums as far out as April '08, you find very little premium. The market is telling us right now that EMC is not the way to play VMW- Cramer's opinions aside.
Please read what I said carefuly- CEO is sellingEMC shares- not VMW. My point is that when VMW got ipo'd, officers received some number of shares of VMW. We don't know how many.
