those who graduate with Gamble engg. knows how speedy it went up and it will go up but soneone has to sell and some one has to buy.Only i see is very limited short position on this equity.when Nmx come out with Initial public offering at app. 120 and other offering at 135.However from begining very high short possition and that why share price not moving up. like in this case vmw short position is very low and thats why small capital more in damand and market maker wants to go up and all supporting agency help to acheive goal.look at Bidu. is example 100 200 300 so it is gambleing engg. good luck.sometimes it is good to watch from bank of river.

Well, look at the whole US market today.

Nasdaq DOWN 17+

Natually, VMW was down along with the market, especially it was up quite a bit the last few days. Nothing but purely profit taking.

We were due for a correction. Nothing to worry about. We only gave back what we made yesterday.

I think the reasons are pretty simple:

1. It can not be up forever and people trying to make profit while the market is not looking good.

2. The stock's value is over 100 times of what the company earned and the future is still uncertain because there will be more competition when Microsoft release its FREE virtual server software in next year. I don't think that it's going to provide imediately the same features and functionalities as VMware but I bet it will cover at least the basic things to get up with and it will become more and more popular as it's FREE.

I think it's too risky to buy this stock at the curent price.

You should ask yourself on what basis you purchased at over $93?
