Cheerleading will not help VM, but they do need help. Isn't that why they had to buy Virsto?
From Business Insider: "Microsoft is breathing down VMware's neck with a competing technology known as Hyper-V. Hyper-V is included in Microsoft's flagship server operating system, Windows Server 2012.
For many years, Hyper-V was considered the cheaper, less desirable alternative to VMware's flagship software. But Microsoft loaded WS2012 with features that, in some cases, leapfrog VMware's. One of these better features is called Storage Spaces, which works a lot like Virsto.
VMware owns 90% of the enterprise market, and Microsoft's Hyper-V isn't going to change that. But the issue is growth, which will come from small companies and large, cloud-provider data centers. Both can be very cost-conscious, which makes Microsoft more appealing to them."
Lol, probably another MS cheerleader that doesn't know what he is talking about, with Nicira acquisition VMware is entering a new multibillion dollar market and VMware is expanding into multi vendor solution whereas MS is just MS hyper-V. Any smart investor will load up here as 100$ is coming sooner than others think.
Hyper - V much better? where do you get your info from some BS microsoft white paper? You obviously aren't in the tech industry or you work at MS. Tell me why Azure doesn't run Hyper-V? Cause it doesn't work - much less scale.
It's the bottom line cost.. Yes I work for Mr. Softy. Yes we are cheaper . . I can tell you we are winning more & more large bids over VM because of price ... Its up to the user, they want the best price. Better, if you mean VM doesn't always get the contracts--
I still believe this market will correct the closer we get to March 1 . Both MSFT and VM will be hurt. Just wanted to look at the board.. I am going to cash..GLTA both longs & shorts
