Oracle to buy or partner with a cloud company????

Do about two weeks ago, all three groups: Cramer, Montley Fool, and Barron's stated how Oracle needs to be a bigger player in the cloud environment. Well, after today's disappointment earnings for Oracle, everyone is talking about their cloud play (or lack their off).

Now this makes things interesting. EMC has a strong relationship with Oracle because several of their managers came from Oracle and vise versa. Don't be surprised when you see both sides talking. I expect a big news in the coming weeks.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • if you read their report or listened to their earnings call, you will hear that Oracle needs to buy a cloud company or needs to partner up with a cloud company. Also, right before I posted this, Investors posted an article saying the following, "Big Data Gets Big Push For Businesses' Success".

        It says...

Pivotal will take assets from both EMC (EMC) and sister company VMware (VMW), with plans for Pivotal to become publicly traded down the road. Pivotal will become a separate company in April and will be run by Paul Maritz, former CEO of VMware. The company will focus on providing Big Data applications and services in cloud-computing environments.

So yeah, bad news for Oracle, GREAT news for VMW. BUY.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
