Enterprise software vendor VMware (VMW) this afternoon reported Q1 revenue in line with analysts’ estimates, and earnings per share that topped consensus.
Revenue in the three months ended in March rose to $1.19 billion, yielding EPS of 74 cents.
Analysts had been modeling $1.19 billion and 70 cents, on average.
VMware shares are down $4.61, or 6%, at $71.11 in late trading.
For the current quarter, the company sees revenue in a range of $1.21 billion to $1.24 billion, below the consensus $1.26 billion.
