Look at Complete Genomics. Why buy out is not best option for Affy.

Complete Genomics got bought out by a Chinese company for I think 3.15 a share. So any one who bought at lower price( i got out before buy out) made money but others got their #$%$ handed to them and lost money. In our case if say Takeda buys Affy for say 8 bucks, I am good but there are many shareholders that have a higher cost basis. That is unfair to them. Some might lose a hell of a lot of money. If Affy becomes a shell company and just collects royalties and distributes it to it's share holders, I think long term every one will make money. It might take time but better then being told told tough #$%$, this is all you will get.

    • Plenty of big boys would take $8 and move on....All this talk of shell companies is BS. The company comes back with the drug and any buy out would be $5-8. A very large number of investors will take that and be happy. The company has to bring back "O", then the price will take care of itself. Takeda will either give the lump sum of $180 mil plus royalties, or the ey get bought by Takeda. Either way, it` $5-8. News of AFFY`s recovery or demise will happen by August IMO.

      • AFFY is basicaly O. Thats why after the approval of O they already planned to change the company from a R&D company to a salescompany. But there is still R&D left. Phase 2 and 3b. What potential is there? a future O? If takeda buys AFFY for say $5 they realy bought that brand new Ferrari for 1000 bucks. One advantage: our freshly hired advisers are the best of the best of the best in the market. So the breakdown of all the value will be ok.
