As of today, seems my $35 prediction is better off than your $20 one. Made it faster than I thought, was figuring 12 months, not 4 months. If it gets closer to $40, will probably sell a portion and wait for a pullback.
Nope definitely not a stock I would short to $20, $35 real shot at, $40, a shot maybe in 18 months. Only unkown currently is what impact Hit Entertainment purchase will have in upside. Lots of good brands there, so, could have big impact when all is said and done. Took American Girl, maybe too long to look like an OK purchase, but a $20 stock....."common man!"
I know huh. I bought mattel after going to the American Girl store in Manhatten and seeing people in line with fistfuls of cash from U.S.A. as well as about ten other nationalities. I didn't even know they paid a dividend, plus they hardly mention American girl as a money maker. brother we in the wrong business...Brian
I did too - but after seeing the Chicago American Girl store.
The most interesting thing I find about the recent report is their confidence in the future. They have increased dividends, may still be buying back stock, and am closing on a big purchase in a few days. Their dividends comprise about 60% of their earnings, so, with continued buyback of stock and a big purchasing eating up available cash, they must be confident of continued growth.
They do have quite a few franchise products - barbie, American girl, hot wheels, and now Monster High (hopefully it can continue to grow and become a real mainstay).
