FSCOX offers excellent exposure to International small cap
I am a diversified Vanguard fund investor. Vanguard has good international funds such as International Value (VTRIX), Developed markets (VDMIX), and emerging markets (VEIEX) but they lack an International small cap fund. Fidelity's FSCOX fills this gap and offers exposure to this important asset class.
The whole asset class of Small cap international has been pounded. I was checking out other small cap international funds and they were all down considerably ( some even greater than 25%). I am not sure why other than a possible international reaction to the US credit cruch but these international funds can be volitale. Actually all international funds, regardless of asset class, have been taking sizable hits within the last month.
I am sure it will turnaround when all this credit BS is resloved.
