revenues and earnings for the quarter ended March 31,
1999.
-- Earnings for the first quarter were a
record $20,030,000, or $.60 per diluted share, an
increase of $2,726,000, or 15.8%, compared to earnings of
$17,304,000, or $.53 per diluted share, for the first quarter
of 1998.
-- First quarter 1999 revenue
increased $82,061,000, or 31.3%, to $344,274,000, from
$262,213,000 for the comparable 1998 period.

efficiencies we gained during 1998,'' said William P. Foley,
II, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity

financially successful month in the history of the Company.
As a full service provider of title insurance and
diversified real estate services we continue to distribute
our real estate products over the most operationally
efficient and productive distribution network in the
industry. Title insurance premiums increased $59,578,000,
approximately 33%, to $241,874,000 for the quarter ended March
31, 1999. Similarly, escrow fees reached $32,795,000
during the 1999 period compared to $26,311,000 for the
year earlier period. Our ancillary service businesses
also continued to flourish. Ancillary service revenue
for the quarter was $24,639,000 compared to
$19,419,000 for the comparable quarter in 1998. The overall
