    Anyone buying more?

I know one of the major rules in individual stocks is to never average down, but this is getting too tempting. With all the bad news and weakness recently, combined with that glimmering PEG, I'm thinking about buying a bit more.

    Opinions, comments??

    • I dont think you can go wrong long term with GOL at 30, if your dealing with stock go for it. Im a little weary of the earnings this quarter but i think that will be that last oppurtunity you will get to buy GOL anywhere near 30. Plus Brazil has that nice law were companies have to pay a dividend.

    • I have been writing covered calls . The Beta is very high which pumps up the premium on the calls.

I bought the initial batch of stock at 31.77 but with the in the money call written at 2.55 my cost basis dropped to 29.22. Then with the next batch of options written at 1.50 the cost basis was lowered even further. Kind of takes the sting out of buying on the high side. It won't take too many months like this to pay for the stock outright. Of course there is the risk the stock will be taken away but my attitude is so what. The premiums will have made it all worthwhile.

    • Well if you're thinking of buying because you want to average down your initial investment, that ship might have sailed away this week. the ATC problems that have hurt these stocks (tam and gol) and seems to have done full damage. I would suppose the air traffic problems will only get better before they get worse.

personally i would wait to see if more bad news comes out and how the congressional hearings go. the volatility of these stocks combined with abd news could make a nice buying opportunity if you are looking for more of a short term play.

check the advice Skinz provided in a question I asked because I found it useful in looking beyond the numbers and recognizing the PEST factors involved.
