The next few years of SHY

For the last few months, and for the forseable future, the new assets that become part of SHY's portfolio will be US tresuries with extreamly low yields.

The high yielding T-Bills/Notes purchased during the "boom time" will mature, and the proceeds will be re-invested at lower yields (zero to 1.5%).

    • You are correct. However today's actions by the Fed *might* be a short-term game changer. $300B of purchases in the 2-10 year range. While SHY is only 1-3 years, there is some overlap, so we might see some price appreciation over the next few months. After that, I have no reason to stick around.
