    What r u crazy.... They r bring back the rotary engine in 2003.... I still have a rx7....... what a engine !!!!!

    • I would agree that your rotary may be much improved over that we had in our '74 rx4 wagon...at 48k miles it began to blow oil bigtime...to their credit Mazda replaced the
      engine with an official mazda rebuilt motor...we got about 20k out of that one when
      it locked up...all told, we got about 4 years out of that car from new and finally donated
      it to the local high school autoshop.

      The big minus to such an engine is its very
      low torque...you might not notice so much in
      a light weight sports car with an automatic but
      in a heavier car with a manual transmission it
      just doesn't work.

      And finally, our gas mileage really sucked...about 12 mpg...my '66 Lincoln gets as
      good.
