Think about it!!!, Ford has the same issues GM had. Ford still has all the retirement , health care, and debt that Gm had. Remember when this crap all started, GM, Ford, Chrysler all started to whine they needed help and they were losing market share to Honda and Toyota. Isn't it funny how Ford simply vanished from the media circles. They no longer were whining and spouting losses and the need for help. Ford still is losing market share and sales are still down 24 percent last quarter, What gives?
Ford was never whinning or asking for a handout. Ford went to Washington in support of GM and Crysler, and said so publicly. Ford has a long history of not trusting Washington. They supported GM and Crysler in their attempt to stay private and viable because strong competition is good for everybody- IMHO
They are at least 6 months away, and if auto market improves and it seems to be doing, and Ford's share keeps improving they may be OK. They may need some government loans, but they have a plan to become profitable and that is something GM and Chrysler could not come up with.
