Evinrude union workers in Wisconsin tried to push to company around when the company said "either take to reduced packaage or we move down south".....the workers thought the company was bluffing, and VOTED NO.
Then the company started making plans to being closing the plant AND THE UNION WORKERS CAME ON BENDED KNEE and begged to keep their jobs. I believe the company did then agree to stay for up to 5 years and took the slugs back
Evinrude should have moved on the Kentucky where workers really want to WORK. Gov Doyle of Wis was unsuccessful in trying to persuade the company to with draw the wage concession package, and he usually gets his way in this highly Democrat/union/socialist state..NOT THIS TIME..
Boat industry is probably shakier than autos, and I live in Wisconin but I think that Evinrude should have shut their doors here. How in the hell did we EVER get to a place where the employees tell the company what to do???
