Someone in Sears Holding is starting to think. If a store is not paying for itself, it is time to close it. Those stores that are not competing need to take a new look at mgt and the rules and regulations they must abide by.
Sears has no choice. Their year-over-year sales were down at most of their stores. Buying Land's End a few years back was an expensive mistake because the executives had NO IDEA how to merge the Land's End catalog and online business model with their existing retail store operations.
I don't think Sears will last another ten years. They've been in an intermittent decline since shortly after they built the Sears Tower (now the Willis Tower) in the early 1970s.
K Mart went bankrupt in 2002 and screwed all of the share holders by hiding the true value of their real estate holdings. 4 years ago they closed the store in our area making it a 70 mile round trip to anyone here to access a store. Their board and officers are just plain crooked and stupid. IMO
