Unfortunately, 153 million shares is not that big a short position. I wish it were larger, since a large short position is what fuels rallies in this market. I do think, however, that Ford is actively shorted by daytraders. For example, I think they were shorting it at 11.56 here on the premise that it would move back down to 11.50 before the close -- usually an easy bet, but perhaps not today.
Most of the larger short positions were put on under $11. Jim Chanos huge short position probably under $10. These shorts are more than likely paying people to flood this board with political gibberish so anything positive about F is quickly gone from top messages.
