Petraeus testifies under oath that Obama and Susan "Middle Finger" Rice lied about Benghazi

Gen. David Petraeus, one of the most highly decorated men in the military and one of the most highly respected figures in Washington among both political parties, testified to Congress today that both President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice lied to the public when they quickly mobilized an effort just after the Benghazi attacks to deceive the public into thinking that the attacks were motivated by an obscure anti-Islamic film.

Petraeus testified that immediately his agency, the CIA, knew that the attacks were perpetrated by organized terrorists with connections to al Qaeda, and that this information was well known at the White House, the State Department, and the Department of Defense.

But someone, somehow changed the talking points used by Rice when she appeared on five Sunday news shows to claim that no terrorism was linked to the attack but that the murders of four U.S. personnel at the consulate in Benghazi were due to "spontaneous protests over a film made in the U.S. that insults the prophet Muhammad."

    That someone is not named.

Neither is that someone named when it comes to the fact that obviously the State Department and the Department of Defense were instructed to claim the film led to the attacks.

But all roads lead directly to the White House. And that means President Obama.

Who else could have scripted a coordinated meme that multiple agencies of the U.S. government used to explain a deadly attack, particularly when it is now clear that the meme was a lie?

Ambassador Rice does not have the authority to go on national TV to speak for the administration unless the White House itself grants such authorization. Thus, she spoke under the direction of the Obama White House.

This can only mean one thing. The false meme that the attacks were motivated by a film and not coordinated terrorism connected to al Qaeda came directly from the White House, and only the president of the United States has ultimate control over foreign policy and what is disclosed to the public officially.

Only one reasonable motivation exists for such a massive, coordinated lie. The election was looming near, and Obama could not risk having the public know that his foreign policy in the Middle East and Libya has been a colossal failure.

But another sordid picture is beginning to emerge beneath the surface. It is now becoming clear that in order to insure that Gen. Petraeus toed the party line early on and confirmed the White House meme that the film led to the attacks, which he now says is false, the White House obviously used the looming sex scandal to blackmail Petraeus into silence.

No one will answer such questions of blackmail either directly or indirectly. Washington, in essence, is mum, which in itself only heightens the suspicion.

With Petraeus' resignation, however, he is no longer obligated to continue with the lie. Neither can he be blackmailed due to the fact that he himself admitted to the affair publicly so that the White House could hold nothing over his head.

The Benghazi scandal should come as no surprise to informed Americans, given that the administration did basically the same thing with the Fast and Furious scandal, with the exception that the White House invoked "executive privilege" to prevent any information from getting out. But given that the administration has gotten away with murder in Fast and Furious, with absolutely no demands from Congress that it face responsibility, apparently the Obama team thinks it can get away with just about anything with impunity.

And the administration will continue policies that result in the deaths of expendable persons as long as there are no calls from Democrats who control the Senate that the president and everyone else in the executive branch be held to accountability.
