I have a question for the board if it will not interrupt the politics.
I have a large holding of ford shares, bought about half when GM and Chrysler was going bankrupt and Ford was in the two’s, and now my last purchase was thirteen +, so
Lucky me I am up.
The thing that bothers me is Ford has 3.81 billion shares
Outstanding, that is a lot of shares, and I worry that we could wind up with a reverse split, I have been in on several of these over the years and never learned to enjoy them.
What I would like to see Ford do instead of paying out big bonuses and dividends is do a share back and get some of those off the street, then they could pay a nice dividend.
I never appreciated anyone getting shares or bonuses for nothing.
Anyone have anything to say sure would appreciate your input.
A share buyback is a possibility at some point, but buybacks don't have a really solid track record of boosting the share price long-term - possibly because buybacks are done over a period of months or years.
IMO, if a buyback does occur, it would happen only after Europe gets turned around.
I'm happy about the divy increase but given the choice I would picked the stock buy back... I held my shares in May 2009 when Ford sold 300 million new shares and took the hit... It would be nice to see Ford pay it forward or pay it back.
I'm a fan of reverse splits and made a fortune with PCLN's 1:6 years ago (original purchase was $2.25!!), although I doubt F will do ... check out SIRI in this regard ... F should and I believe will increase the div ... hold for north of $20 ...
