Obama's Chicago now the crime & murder capitol of midwest.

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.

221 killed in Iraq AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

    President: Barack Hussein Obama

    Senator: #$%$ Durbin

    House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr.

    Governor: Pat Quinn

    House leader: Mike Madigan

Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)

    Mayor: Rahm Emanuel

The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .

Of course, they're all blaming each other.

Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois.

And he is going to 'fix' Washington politics for us???

George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the big house.
Of course he was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch who is...that's right, also in the big house.
And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago.
That is because he is fighting being sent to...that's right, the big house.

The Land of Lincoln, where our governors make our license plates.

    But you know what?
As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago, nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does.

The mass media terrorists ignore the truth of the situation

    • "As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago, nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does."

Chicago used to have square miles of industrial park, much like Silicon Valley does now. But it was all machinery and it's gone. Ditto most of the factories. And today's factories need few unskilled or semi skilled people. The manufacturing ladder jobs that served generations of Americans are gone, probably for good. It's not the only such city - I recall square miles of abandoned multistory manufacturing buildings in Philadelphia also.

Maybe there's something to it, the unemployed in Chicago may need to go back to where their families are, mostly in the hard core Southeast where they were driven out in the '50's and '60's as deliberately uneducated agricultural workers displaced by machinery. A better idea might be not to pay unemployment in place but moving expenses to Texas and other areas that claim to have jobs. If it's Texas maybe they would have to be armed too. Many people might rethink the idea of owning houses and being nailed down.

Anyway, Chicago has always been a tough place whichever wave of people lived there or wherever in the world they were from. The suburbs surrounding it probably have more people than the city itself. Life has been a zero sum game in metro Chicago for some time. One difference in recent decades is that the easy availability of higher powered weaponry has escalated the violence level and complicated policing. If someone here thinks that knives, clubs, and zip guns are as lethal, they need to come blinking into the light outside their mother's basement.

    • I would say that when you endeavor to criticize you should at least get the title correct.
The election is over dear boy no matter what you say and the party and candidate you probably support lost.
Now I was given to understand that you supported everyone having guns, is that or is that not true.?
You seem surprised that when people have lots of guns lots of people die from gunshots and I wonder why.
Now I know you will tell me guns don't kill people but guns do make it easier that is why bows and arrows went out of fashion.
Now using your logic (twisted though it is) does President Obama get credit for the other cities and towns that have lower death rates. You're really up tight because President Obama won a second term you must be one of those old fogies that just cannot stand change a real Luddite.

Capital has multiple meanings: (1) a city that serves as the seat of government; (2) wealth in the form of money or property; (3) an asset or advantage; (4) a capital letter (the type of letter used at the beginning of a sentence).

Capitol refers to the building in which a legislative assembly meets. (Remember that the o in capitol is like the o in the dome of a capitol building.)

      • I'm so pleased, nine (9) rejections, is this a record? Even after I explained the difference between Capitol and Capital it becomes quite obvious that some people are opposed to change and will not even accept simple facts.
If you ever want to comment on just how great this country is you should reflect that a group of people could rise from being slaves and in the face of the most brutal discrimination rise to the unthinkable levels in the government and society of that country in such a short time.

      • Only seven (7) negatives I really expected many more all the other old men and bigots must have been watching the Inauguration of President Obama or taking their afternoon naps.

      • He claims to be from Chicago - why would he get credit of other cities that are doing it right - his regime - Rahm and other democrats - have it all wrong - keep providing a free ride and this is what you are going to get - and not to worry cause Holder makes sure there a plenty of weapons on the street through programs like Fast and Furious - try you propaganda someplace else.
