Shanks talking about the incredible investments they are now making in Asia and Europe. Costs associated with introducing new models in both markets and closing plants in Europe but very much on track for increasing profitabiliy on both regions....or should I say getting back to profitability in Europe.
There always on track until they run off the rails. Recall Mually and Ford in the famous interview where they stated we are on track for profits then wamo the bottom fell out three days later when they reported nada . Unless they are at the door of bankrupcy they state we our on track. Maybe even if BK is knocking GM was still talking smack until almost the end.
In North America, Ford reported pretax profit of $1.9 billion, up from $900 million in the same period a year earlier. Pretax profit was $145 million in South America and $39 million in Asia. But Ford lost $732 million in Europe.
