Fox News Shows #$%$ Morris the Door

#$%$ Morris, the conservative analyst known for his constant grin, his certitude, and his bad predictions, is out of a job at Fox News, setting off chortles of delight from Democrats and liberals.

Morris is the second prominent conservative to part ways with Fox in recent weeks, as the conservative-leaning network apparently seeks to freshen its lineup and increase its declining credibility. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, also left Fox, apparently by mutual agreement. Palin was popular among many hard-line conservatives, but her approach to punditry had become predictable and never went beyond superficial.

Morris was a frequent voice on Fox News shows during last year's election cycle, but he was wildly wrong in predicting that Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney would win in a landslide and that the GOP would re-take the Senate.

But Fox did renew the contract of GOP strategist Karl Rove, a former adviser to President George W. Bush. Rove got into a dustup with other Fox analysts on election night over internal Fox projections of President Barack Obama's victory, which turned out to be true despite Rove's doubts. But he retains more credibility than Morris or Palin, and is well connected to the GOP establishment.

    • Karl Rove can be named as a principal Architect of the Crash. He is still in charge of the hard right SuperPAC American Crossroads and the anonymous donor one Crossroads CRS. Those funds dispensed $100's of millions in the last election to Republican Presidential and Congressional campaigns. As Romney's election started to look iffy, more was sent to Congressional elections especially for huge media buys. Rove knew exactly what was going on. So he has a lot of favors to be returned from Republicans in Congress. Rove is regarded as the reining master of Confederate politics at present and was essential to George Bush's campaigns including for Governor of Texas.

As long as Rove can get money from his stable of billionaires and would be plutocrats, he must be regarded as formidable and dangerous. Remembering that, the way he played election night on Fox was about his only possible strategy.

Rove also writes as a bogus elder statesman in Murdoch's WSJ, not just Fox.

    • IMHO Karl Rove represents everything wrong in the Republican Party.
