don't they use aluminum blocks ???
plastics will eventually prove out to be the best materials ... once we pass a tipping point with electric and
fuel cell cars , there will be less demand for petroleum based fuels and more raw material with which to
produce enough plastic to be used in vehicles ...
That is a shame, you'll miss out on a great truck with great gas milage... The 700 pound lighter truck will be a shocker when you see the MPG improvements! The aluminum used is the same alloy used in the USA military trucks.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
For Ford to meet the future required minimal 'GPM average' for all vehicles sold, Ford had to build the first aluminum truck (per EPA requirements). Soon, all trucks sold in the USA will be aluminum. Do you really think some engineer from Ford woke up one day on a whim and decided to build trucks using aluminum? You can thank the government for this. Just be happy that Ford decided to 'Lead the Way'.
