Today is not unlike any other down day for commodities in the past. Gold is falling off a cliff and who didn't expect this? Oil followed suit. However, with the knowledge that the country and the world will always need oil, and not those stupid obummer wind mills, to fuel the country I don't have any worries about my huge investment in COP. With two new finds in the Gulf of Mexico this company is poised to be back in the $70 range in two years. Stat Oil and Chevron made the first large discoveries there and have stated that there is more oil in the Gulf of Mexico than in all of Saudi Arabia. We will be exporting oil and especially natural gas from Texas in the short term. So turn off CNBC, go have lunch, and tomorrow is another day and a chance to make some money here. That is if you have the balls to do it.
If you are invested for the long term it makes absolutely no difference. Add more to you portfolio when you have the funds to do so and reinvest the dividends. Take this from somebody who has been doing it very successfully for many years.
