back I n 1969 I was in junior high . My hippy liberal English teacher was always bringing in articles predicting doom and the end of the planet due to man made pollution . being young and impressionable I believed this #$%$ . I especially remember an article ,where the scientists said they weren't making any plans beyond 1975 , the state of the planet was so bad and irreversible that it would all be over by then .. well that was 45 years ago those scientists are likely dead ,as I too will be soon enough . The earth and society will go on .
may recommend a book to my liberal global warming theorists ? its titled "extraordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds " by George Mackay . though written over a hundred years ago the insights are are amazing and still apply .
The party can't go on forever. Population growth + increased energy use per capita...at some point the earth comes back and smacks the human race into its place. When that happens, who knows.
Some future generation will wonder why people today were not more proactive.
You can berate professors. I get that. But just remember, when the same science that produced the medications and airplanes that you trust your life to tells us that CO2 emissions will cause major problems in the future, maybe it's wise to stop and think.
Don't forget. He invented the internet. But as you know and you might have experienced this.........the internet is slowing down just as the temperatures are warming up all over the globe. He 's got a problem. Al.......please help us !!!
"WHERE IS AL GORE?"
The King is in his counting house, counting up the $220 million that he got from fooling the people. Getting rich at the expense of the populace, enjoy your ill gotten gains and go to hll Gore!
He is laughing all the way to the bank and at the dupes who listen to his drivel. Respecting the environment is a good thing, since air pollution is a serious health problem. However, scaring people with bogus science is plain dumb.
Well let's see, how many ways is this comment stupid? 1) Climate change includes radical movements both up and down, but the overall tendency scientists agree (97%) on is that it is getting warmer. So much warmer, that the entire ecosystem (and humanity) is in danger if the trend isn't turned around, so 2) Say it's only a 50% chance. Why would you want to ignore the possible threat instead of addressing it? To POSSIBLY be right, when the consequences are disaster? That's not a very conservative approach.
have you been listening to those same scientists lately with all the solar flares they are saying we are going to go into another ice age again. The problem as i see it is that no matter if You were all powerful you couldnt change one thing, not one thing on the temperature front. You could make it a lot less of a wonderful world but you couldnt change much on mother nature. AND that is not an excuse to destroy mother nature, but our understanding is way to limited.
Ah, we found one of Al Gore's useful idiots ... now squirming to rationalize the failed science no matter which way the temperature of the planet is heading. You sound like Jimmy Carter, explaining that "the energy crisis is real", back in the mid-seventies.
He's content to let his useful idiots do his bidding for him, while he collects millions for the sale of his failed network to Al Jazeera. Even the stupid #$%$ Europeans are beginning to catch on to this scam.
You must realize that just as the case with Utopian, Marxist, or Left-wing Liberal policies, there can be no short-term evidence which can disconfirm the projected outcome of global warming. That's why it's now called climate change: there will be cooling on the way to warming. As the UN spokesman explained the current trend: "It would have been warmer had it not been for the cooling." Don't pay attention to current data, what we project will eventually happen. Obama says that in 5 years people will love Obamacare. My mother always told me "Eventually you get used to being hung."
"Eventually you get use to being hung". I have heard some great wit in my time, but I take my hat off to your mother. This just about sums up everything I see and rolled my eyes over, relating to the #$%$ politicians we have in this country today.
