    DAVEW no more

The company called in DAVEW this past July for $22 million in cash, which I suppose is used to put up more restaurants.

As an aside, the Research Director at R.J. Steichen told me that a big reason why the stock price on DAVE has (had?) been going up is because DAVE continually surprised analysts as to how quickly they could put up restaurants. The analysts at Steichen
had to constantly revise upward their earnings models to include restaurant openings not at first accounted for. I imagine that at some point, the market will get a better idea how fast DAVE is expanding, and the stock price will better reflect that.

On a slightly unrelated note, one of my co-workers tells me that DAVE is now selling some frozen meat products at Rainbow Foods. $3.79 for 10 oz of shredded beef or chicken.

    • Where are the Famous Dave's products available? Is Rainbow Foods a supermarket chain? If so, where are there stores? I so do enjoy gettng to Famous Dave's on my infrequent vists to the Twin Cities.

Have been to the Linden Hills and Calhoun Square locations. Just Great! I suspect I will have an opportunity to try the Madison, Wisconsin stores when I visit there in a few months.

I understand that the Quad Cities area (Il/Ia) are on the short list for future outlets. That's only 50 miles away. This news does not sit well with my cardologist! : )
